Havaianas Philippines Design a Smile

Havaianas Philippines invites kids ages 5 to 12 to design their own flip-flops for the benefit of Design a Smile!  Last October 23, we went to the Gallery at Greenbelt 5 at their booth for some little artsy quality time.  My cousins enjoyed expressing themselves by drawing (designing their flip-flops) answering the question "What makes you smile?".

I was really surprised how they come up with different ideas, with the question of what makes them smile, they answered candies, swimming, cellphone, colors, and even TV set!  Their answers ranged from PSP to Philippine scenery, from 1-peso coin (spoiler: that was Sofia's answer) to bonding with family.  As there is no right or wrong answers, I was glad they were able to express what truly made them smile.

And I believe what's really important in this campaign is its mission to bring smiles to children who have cleft lip and cleft palate deformities.  The top winning design will be produced as a special pair of the Havaianas collection, with a percentage of the proceeds donated to Operation Smile Philippines.

Thank you Havaianas Philippines, we really had so much fun!

Havaianas, the world's favorite flip-flops, launched the "Design a Smile" campaign to spread cheer and share thousands of smiles with Filipino children. Havaianas is creating a venue for children to heal the broken smiles of other children who have cleft lip and cleft palate deformities.

Contestants are highly encouraged to donate to Operation Smile, 100% of which will be given to Operation Smile.  Catch the Havaianas Design a Smile team on the following dates and venue:

•November 6 (Saturday) - Lower Ground Level, SM Tarlac
•November 6-7 (Saturday and Sunday) - Northwing, SM City Cebu
•November 7 (Sunday) - G/F Center Atrium, SM City Lipa
•November 14 (Sunday) - G/F Event Center, SM City Naga
